About Us

“The Illinois Fund for Careers in School Psychology was organized as a not-for-profit corporation to further the education of school psychologists, support scientific research in school psychology, encourage and increase the representation of racial and ethnic minorities within the profession, and support activities that may be reasonably related.”

“Illinois school psychologists support all students, their families, their schools.”

The word “Program” in the title includes activities that most school psychologists perform throughout their careers. While our focus in the past has been on raising funds to award scholarships to candidates of racial and ethnic minorities, most of the directors, past and present, have engaged in activities featured as “Reflections.” Past IFCSP award recipients are encouraged to contribute a brief case study, intervention, community or research activity performed in their careers.

Our mission

In 1991, the Illinois Fund was established to:

• Increase the representation of cultural and ethnic minorities within the profession.

• Further the education of school psychologists.

• Promote public awareness of the significant role school psychologists
play in schools, communities and society.

“Illinois school psychologists support all students, their families, their schools.”
